10 engaging virtual activities for your remote team for 2025

Brotherhood over everything. That’s what we believe at TimeDive and it has worked wonders for our team. We were able to navigate through rough storms and are still going strong.
The question is what did we do differently?
Our mutual trust and the bond we created. Having those water-cooler conversations, coffee breaks and Friday eve beers helped us build that.
For remote-first teams, building a bond with the team can be a challenge but here are top 10 things you can do to make it possible.
Virtual coffee meetings:
Coffee and conversation are the best blend to get those informal, personal conversations going. You can simply talk about what your teammate plans to do this weekend or the most bizarre thing that they watched on Youtube this week.
2. Netflix party:
Create a team poll on which genre most of the team wants to watch and share the options. Pick the most liked movie and stream it together. Just one rule: get those popcorn, and colas at the start so that you don’t have to pause it.
3. Share your Spotify playlist:
We all have our own mood-for-the-day playlist. Music can really bring out one’s personality and lift up your spirit. You can either share your playlist that you are listening to on repeat or collaborate and create a team playlist for pumping the adrenaline or de-stressing.
4. Scavenger hunt:
This is my personal favourite and something our team at TimeDive play quite frequently. Create a virtual scavenger hunt where team members have to find and share items around their homes and race back to their screen to show it. It gets your heart pumping and those arguments break the ice right through.
5. Game night:
You can play interactive games like Fibbage, Catan, or Skribble (and discover Picasso in your team). These friendly games would definitely get your team bond over anecdotes.
At TimeDive, the end of the gaming night calls for everyone’s favourite “Mafia”.
6. Book Club:
You can start a virtual book club where team members can read and discuss books they have recently started reading. This promotes intellectual stimulation and shared experiences.
7. Setup AMA:
Let your team members nominate each other for an AMA session wherein they can share their love and knowledge about their hobbies. From Hydroponic farming to playing Fencing, you will discover those hidden talents. It will help your team members look beyond their work and respect each other.
8. Wellness Challenges:
Each team has a person who loves running and 10k is a cakewalk for them VS a person who loves WFH and drives a car to their 500m away grocery store.
Organise virtual wellness challenges, such as step challenges or meditation sessions, and reward them for touching a new milestone that can differ for each group.
9. DIY kits:
People are really loving it these days. Send out those DIY kits for painting, creating coasters, Jar candles, cocktail infusion (it’s a Friday activity), basically anything, get on a call and work on it together. It will get those creative juices flowing and craft your way to fun.
10. Share your NEW favourites:
Every week, schedule a custom reminder for Monday using TimeDive and everyone has to share their favourites. It can be their favourite memes, new music tracks they are hooked on, new recipe they tried this weekend, a new bar they discovered, anything that pumped them last week. It is a kind of self-journal wherein one can appreciate what they experienced, feel gratitude and for others to feel a part of the person’s personal life.
The key is to choose activities that align with your team’s interests and preferences, and these virtual experiences will let your team members interact on a different horizon.
